It's that time of year to celebrate togetherness with the people in our lives. For many of us this means we need to travel great lengths to see the ones we love. This holiday season, prepare ahead of time to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
First of all, make sure that your car is in good condition to make a long road trip. Get the oil changed, check for any maintenance issues, check tire pressure, and fill the tank before you leave. Have your license, insurance, and AAA cards available for emergency situations.
Make sure you know where you are going and what routes you are going to take. This prevents distracted driving from looking at maps (or arguing with the map reader!!). If you are lost, pull over to type in your inquiries in the GPS system or ask for directions. Trying to fiddle with the buttons on the GPS is not safe for anyone, even the most expert of drivers.
Be aware of your surroundings and other drivers. With heavy traffic comes more risks and potentials for harmful situations. Be polite and courteous, it is the holidays after all!
We hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday season!!
